The Counter Surveillance Initiative is an Oregon-based nonprofit organization serving individuals and communities throughout the United States. We advance public safety and access to justice by providing independent, third party digital forensic documentation, evidence preservation, and technical assessments that support victims, legal proceedings, and law enforcement investigations. We preserve, catalog, and validate digital evidence using recognized forensic principles, conduct lawful and ethical independent investigations, educate the public on digital safety and evidence preservation, connect victims with local support services, and foster collaboration among investigators, legal professionals, researchers, and community organizations. Our mission is to ensure that individuals facing complex digital crimes have access to objective forensic expertise, independent advocacy, and the resources necessary to pursue justice and recovery. We exist to bridge the gap between victims, technology, and the justice system, ensuring that no individual is denied the opportunity to seek justice simply because digital evidence is misunderstood, overlooked, or too technically complex to investigate.
